Hale residential building is comprised of various types of residential units combined together. Most floors feature two typical units, with a single-unit penthouse on the upper floor and a duplex unit placed in the middle of the floors. This fragmentation is reflected in the mass of the building, with the project’s mass and facade visualized as a puzzle-like three-dimensional volume. This quality contrasts with flatness and uniformity. The rectangular geometry applied in the design is evident, particularly in the design of the handrails of the linear terraces. Rigid, banded, and jagged terraces contrast with the voids behind them. Plant elements, with their bold presence, serve as mediators between the rigid handrails and permeable terraces.
The penthouse of the project features a distinctive plan. The kitchen, with its layered design separating the dirty and clean areas, is positioned in the center of the plan, facing the entrance, and acts as a divider between private and non-private areas. While the kitchen is not open to the living room area, it opens towards the tall windows on the facade wall, with an indirect path leading to the living room and private living room. A linear terrace throughout creates cohesion and connectivity among all spaces on this floor. Additionally, by incorporating voids in parts of the roof of this floor, an intriguing visual connection is established between this floor and the green roof of the project.
